Two soldiers were martyred and six others were injured Monday in a terrorist attack in Turkey’s eastern province of Bitlis.
The buried bomb exploded while security forces were passing through a wooded area near the city center.
The injured were admitted in the nearby hospitals.
The operations including airstrikes against PKK terrorist organization have been ongoing in the region.
The PKK -- also considered a terrorist organization by the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in late July.
Since then, official figures indicate more than 200 members of the security forces have been martyred and over 1,700 PKK terrorists killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq, including airstrikes.
