Suspected Daesh member killed in southern Turkey

A suspected Daesh member trying to enter into Turkey from Syria illegally was killed in the southern Turkish province of Kilis on Wednesday, according to the Turkish General Staff's website.

The statement on the website said that 21 other people including nine minors were also detained in Kilis.

The Turkish General Staff did not mention the exact reason of their detention.

Since July, security forces in Turkey have been conducting anti-terrorist operations across the country after a suicide bombing attributed to Daesh killed dozens of people in Suruc, in the southeastern Sanliurfa province on July 20.

Another terrorist attack, also attributed to Daesh, killed more than 100 people in capital Ankara on Oct. 10.
