Eflatun Cem Güney was born in 1896 in Hekimhan. Güney compiled our traditional folk tales and tales. He also wrote fairy tales. He became known as the Storyteller Father. After graduating from Sivas Sultanisi, he was appointed to Konya Öksüzler Yurdu as a Turkish teacher. He worked as a teacher in many parts of Anatolia. While he was working in Öğüd newspaper, the media organ of Kuva-yı Milliye, he also published İrşat Magazine. He worked for the publication of local art magazines in various regions of Anatolia. Andersen Foundation in Denmark; In 1956, he awarded the author the World Children's Literature Honorary Certificate with his work titled "Emergency Table Open". He won this award again in 1960 with his book Dede Korkut Tales. Eflatun Cem Güney, one of the important writers of our children's literature, made great efforts to reveal many of our tales in modern Turkish. Güney, who was appointed as the deputy director of the Istanbul National Education Directorate by the Ministry of National Education, received great acclaim for his tales in the program "Once Upon a Time" on Istanbul Radio. He died in 1981.
