Six more PKK terrorists killed in southeastern Turkey
Three police officers and three civilians have also been injured in a security operation in Mardin province
Six PKK terrorists were killed in a security operation in southeastern Mardin province late Monday, the regional governor's office said.
The operation in the town of Dargecit also saw three police officers and three civilians injured. The town, which lies around 40 kilometers (26 miles) north of the Syrian border, has been under curfew since Friday.
The PKK terrorists launched 18 rocket attacks on the security forces, the statement said.
"Anti-terrorist operations will continue in a steadfast manner in order to ensure that local citizens live in peace and security," it added.
Five PKK terrorists were killed earlier Monday in another operation in the town, which also left three civilians, including a child, injured.
The PKK - considered a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU - resumed its armed campaign in late July. Since then, more than 195 members of the security forces have been martyred and over 1,700 PKK terrorists killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq, including airstrikes.
