Istanbul fairs end after four-day events

TUMEXPO, ALLINTECH and Halal Expo fairs -- conducted over four days in Istanbul Congress Center since Thursday -- have come to an end.

The events -- for which Anadolu Agency is a global communications partner -- were held between 22-25 October at the center, gathering a large number of entrepreneurs, government and private sector stakeholders along with 300 companies and 40 thousand visitors.

TUMEXPO 2015 was hosted by the All Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (TUMSIAD), and organizational work was undertaken by Discover Events. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan participated in the official opening ceremony on Friday. The organization covered a variety of events, including business-to-business meetings, presentations and promos.

Innovative applications in defense, energy and technology were all exhibited at the ALLTECH fair, while the Halal summit hosted 26 World Halal Council members.

Yunus Ete, chairman of organizer Discover Events’ Board of Directors, said the summit would be held annually in Turkey.

"Groundwork for latest developments, commitments and announcements in the world of Halal will now be laid in Turkey, as a result of the council meetings held in thie fields of medicine, pharmaceutics, Islamic jurisprudence and chemistry,” he said.

Commenting on the events, Ete said: "We will continue to organize summits and fairs that have strategic importance to create added value for Turkey. We aim to turn our country into a hub for various sectors. We, as Discover Events, plan to organize 20-25 summits and fairs a year. We will become a leading country in the Halal food industry."
