Invalid votes decreased in Turkey’s election: YSK board

The number of invalid votes in Sunday’s election stood at 698,352 which is way down from 1,346,340 such votes cast in the June 7 election, the Supreme Election Board (YSK) chairman said on Monday.

Addressing a press conference in Ankara, YSK Chairman Sadi Guven said that the voter turnout in Turkey’s 26th general election was 85.18 percent, while the participation of Turkish citizens abroad was around 44.78 percent.

Guven said that the 85.18 percent turnout represented participation of 48,537,201 people out of the total 56,949,009 registered voters. Also, people in 54 countries voted at 112 voting stations.
