Industrial production must continue

Underlining that production should continue even though there are restrictions within the scope of coronavirus measures, Fatih Ceylan, Head of Konya Branch of the Entrepreneurial Businessmen Foundation, recommended that workplaces should be inspected to encourage them to take measures individually. Noting that the economy is getting better with the announced 6.7% growth, President Ceylan said, “The growth rates are really good. "If we are going like this under these conditions, we will not be on the ground under normal conditions.

Drawing attention to the fact that if the production stops, the urgent needs of the country cannot be met, Fatih Ceylan, Head of the Konya Branch of the Entrepreneurial Businessmen Foundation, said, “In an industrial enterprise with 200 employees, 3 people have coronavirus. All of them are automatically in contact. We say that all measures should be taken but production should continue. "If the production stops, we cannot produce the things that the country urgently needs."

'EXPORT IS OPENED'

Expressing that Konya industrialists act meticulously by taking all necessary precautions, Ceylan said, “The mask on our face is down to penny prices. We all take it fast, we use it and throw it away. We no longer pay attention to the cost of this. There is a mask with parcels in our workplaces. Staff gets unlimited. We make sure employees pay attention. I produce and sell disinfectant stands. I both export and sell domestically, but there are disinfectant stands at 5-6 points in my own workplace. And all the details have been considered accordingly. We have only one problem. That is, the production does not stop. It was not like this in the same period last year, but this year there is a strange export in this period. There was some interest in us due to the exchange rate difference. As such, the part related to export has opened up strangely. Now, if we slow down the industrial production with some justifiable reasons and wrong application, this will really trouble the 6.7 percent growth. The more we pay attention to the coronavirus, the more profitable we will be. A citizen of his country cannot say 'I do not believe in the virus'. We all have to bear this responsibility. However, in the fields of production, export and marketing, there should definitely be a flexible door within these restrictions. Our sensitivity in this matter is certain, ”he said.

'ECONOMIC GROWTH WAS EXPECTED FOR KONYA'

Coronavirus in terms of growth rates and Ceylan stressed that Turkey expected for something in Konya, said: "showed the vitality and mobility in the industrial economy. But it is necessary to continue this. We take measures and while taking measures, it is necessary to evaluate the production in a separate area. All the measures we will take should not interrupt the production. We should not disrupt trade so that we can continue increasing the growth rate. In fact, every crisis period is a new chance period. There will certainly be those who come out of every crisis stronger. We believed at the beginning that we could achieve this. A friend of our members said, “I have been giving a price to Italy for 10 years and I could not sell products once. But now, when the production in China was interrupted due to Corona, I was able to turn the situation into an opportunity and sell loaded products, "he says. It is like this all over the world. They are investigating "Where can I get it if not in China?" And they look at whoever has an alternative. We can see our vulnerabilities so that we can improve ourselves. We can turn to the things that are in demand but cannot produce. "

"KONYA HAS BECOME A GOOD POSITION IN EXPORTS"

Underlining that Konya's export figure exceeded the critical $ 2 billion level in 2019, Ceylan said, “Our Chamber of Industry Chairman Memiş Kütükcü said that we are doing very well in exports this year. We were only interrupted in the first three months of this year. At the time, suffered serious difficulties organized industrial zones all over Turkey. It experienced declines in production between 18 percent and 33 percent on average. For example, sectors based on textiles experienced serious problems. Automotive sector experienced serious problems in Bursa, Kocaeli region. The furniture industry had a problem in Kayseri. They lost up to 33 percent of production. However, Konya was one of the leading cities due to the breadth of its product range. We produce a wide variety of products. From the outside, it still seems an agriculture-based economy, but no we are not. We can produce hundreds of varieties in dozens of different products. That's why we have only experienced an 8 percent decrease in Konya. Then, as we quickly closed this, today we produce around 23 percent above those normal figures. These figures are definitely very important data, ”he said.

'EVERYTHING WILL PASS'

“There is a trust in our country, it will end, everything will pass. Saying that we will continue, Ceylan said, “It is very important to have trust. It is important that work on this continues. Indeed, industrialists do not want to lose shifts in production. We had a shortage of raw materials for a while at the beginning of the pandemic process. We could not find raw materials. There were customers and demands, but no raw materials. We solved that problem too. The increase in exports due to the exchange rate difference changed the whole balance. Despite the pandemic, despite the exchange rate difference, it is our main expectation that the industry is working at the end of the year and exports increase.
