Football: Besiktas win puts them four points clear
Away victory over Antalyaspor sees club widen gap over Istanbul rivals
Besiktas leads the Turkish Super League by four points after beating Antalyaspor 1-5 on Monday night.
Istanbul rivals Fenerbahce and Galatasaray trail on 18 points each after drawing 1-1 with each other on Sunday.
Necip Uysal put Besiktas ahead in the 14th minute before Antalyaspor’s Samuel Eto equalized seven minutes later.
In the 27th minute, Mario Gomes put Besiktas ahead again and scored another in the second half before Olcay Sahan and Cenk Tosun added their names to the scoresheet.
Gomez leads the top scorers’ list with eight goals, followed by Eto’o and Bursaspor’s Tomas Necid on seven goals.
