China launches remote sensing satellite
Satellite will be used for experiments, land surveys, crop yield estimates, disaster relief

China has launched a remote sensing satellite named Yaogan-29 from the central province of Shaanxi.
State news agency Xinhua reported Friday that the satellite will be used for experiments, land surveys, crop yield estimates and disaster relief.
The satellite was carried by a Long March-4C rocket, marking the Long March rocket family's 219th mission.
China first launched a "Yaogan" series satellite back in 2006.
It follows the launch earlier this month of a ChinaSat 2C communications satellite to provide radio, TV and broadband transmission services for the country's radio and TV stations and cable networks.
