3 detained in connection with bomb attack in SE Turkey
Suspects held at a police station over the attack in Diyarbakir's Sur district that claimed four police officers' lives
Police on Tuesday detained three suspects in connection with Monday's bomb attack on police officers in southeastern Diyarbakir province, according to a security source.
Four police officers were martyred and two others injured in the terror attack after suspected PKK terrorists targeted a police vehicle in Sur district.
The suspects are at a police station for further questioning, said the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to media.
Earlier, security officials told that about 200 kilograms of explosives were used in the attack, which caused a pit measuring 2-meter in width and 1-meter in depth.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU -- resumed its armed campaign in July 2015 and since then has been responsible for the deaths of around 1,100 security personnel and civilians, including women and children.
