27 PKK terrorists killed in southeastern Turkey

At least 27 PKK terrorists have been neutralized in southeastern Turkey, according to the Turkish military.

According to a statement issued Saturday by the Turkish General Staff, 27 PKK terrorists were killed in air and ground operations while they were trying to enter a base zone in the Yuksekova district of the Hakkari province.

Operations to arrest other PKK terrorists are underway in the region.

The PKK – listed as a terrorist organization also by the U.S. and the EU – resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.

Since then, nearly 600 security personnel, including troops, police officers, and village guards have been martyred and more than 5,000 PKK terrorists killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
