21 PKK terrorists killed in southeast Turkey operations
According to Turkish military, 4 PKK were killed in Mardin province and 17 others in Sirnak
Turkish security forces killed 21 PKK terrorists in two separate operations in the southeast of the country, the military said Saturday.
According to a Turkish General Staff statement, four terrorists were killed in an operation in Mardin province’s Nusaybin district on Friday. Security forces also destroyed nine improvised explosive devices in the operation.
In Sirnak province, 17 more PKK terrorists were killed.
The PKK – also listed as a terrorist organization by the U.S. and the EU – resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.
Since then, nearly 500 members of the security forces, including troops, police officers and village guards have been martyred, and over 4,900 PKK terrorists killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
