A total of 17 PKK terrorists were killed in anti-terror operations in southeastern Turkey, according to the General Staff of Turkish Armed Forces.

Fifteen were killed in the southeastern Turkish province of Sirnak, added the General Staff early Friday.

In addition, two PKK terrorists were killed in a clash in the southeastern Siirt province. Another soldier was injured and was taken to Siirt State Hospital.

The operations in the region were still ongoing, said the General Staff.

PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and the EU – resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.

Since then, more than 440 members of the security forces, including troops, police officers, and village guards, have been martyred, and over 4,500 PKK terrorists killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
