US-led coalition strikes kill 10 in Syria's Deir ez-Zor

U.S.-led coalition airstrikes on Friday left at least 10 civilians dead, including four children, in Syria’s eastern Deir ez-Zor province.

According to local sources, the strikes -- which were reportedly intended to support the YPG/PKK terrorist group -- hit a residential area in a YPG/PKK-held part of the province.

The YPG/PKK, for its part, later claimed the attack had been a “mistake” -- despite the fact that a similar assault had left 11 people dead in the nearby town of Shiifa.

Over the course of the last 48 hours, coalition airstrikes have reportedly killed at least 21 civilians.
