US-led coalition airstrikes kill three in eastern Syria
Strikes occur in part of Deir Ez-Zor held by coalition-backed YPG/PKK terrorist group
Three civilians were killed Monday in Syria's eastern Deir Ez-Zor province by airstrikes carried out by a U.S.-led military coalition, according to local sources.
A man and his two wives were killed when their home was totally destroyed by a coalition airstrike in the town of Ash-Shaafah, the sources, who spoke anonymously due to security concerns, told Anadolu Agency.
The targeted area falls within a part of Deir Ez-Zor held by the coalition-backed YPG/PKK terrorist group.
Last September, the YPG/PKK and the U.S.-led coalition conducted joint operations against the Daesh terrorist group’s last remaining stronghold in Deir Ez-Zor.
At the time, hundreds of civilians were killed in Daesh-held parts of the province by intense coalition bombardments.
