PKK terrorist attack martyrs two Turkish soldiers and injures two others in eastern Tunceli province
Two soldiers were martyred and two others were wounded Sunday in a terror attack by the PKK on an armored police vehicle in the eastern Turkish province of Tunceli, according to security officials.
Security sources said that the incident took place on the Tunceli-Pulumur highway as a mine-resistant armored vehicle belonging to Turkish soldiers was crossing.
After the attack, the four soldiers were transferred to Tunceli State Hospital but two of them died at the hospital.
The PKK -- designated a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU -- renewed its armed campaign against the Turkish state this summer.
Since July, more than 150 members of security forces have been martyred while, according to the government, more than 2,000 PKK terrorists have been killed.
On Sept. 6, sixteen Turkish soldiers were martyred by roadside bombs followed by clashes with PKK terrorists in Daglica, Hakkari province, in the deadliest incident in the latest round of violence.
