Turkiye's Borsa Istanbul up at close
BIST 100 gains 5.6 points from previous close
Turkiye's benchmark stock index ended Monday at 2,038.06 points, up 0.28% from the previous close.
Starting the day at 2,050.09 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index earned 5.6 points from Friday's close of 2,032.44 points.
The index's lowest value during the day was 2,015.38 points, while its daily high was 2,060.69.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 1.62 trillion Turkish liras ($119.1 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 26.6 billion Turkish liras ($1.95 billion).
During the first transaction day of the week, 35 stocks on the index rose, 58 fell and seven remained unchanged compared to Friday's close.
The highest trading volumes were posted by flag carrier Turkish Airlines, iron/steel producers Kardemir, and Eregli.
Automotive producer Otokar was the best performer, with its shares up 9.99%, while stocks of medicine provider Selcuk Ecza Deposu saw the biggest drop, 4.54%.
The price of one ounce of gold was $1,890 by market close, down from $1,895 at the previous close.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $92.40 per barrel as of 6.30 p.m. local time (1530GMT).
