Turkish parliament head extends greetings to Cameroonian counterpart on National Day
Turkey attaches importance to development of relations with Cameroon in every field, Mustafa Sentop says
The Turkish parliament speaker on Thursday extended greetings to his Cameroonian counterpart on Cameroon’s National Day.
"On behalf of the Turkish nation and myself, I would like to congratulate the friendly and brotherly people of Cameroon on the occasion of Cameroon's Unity Day," Mustafa Sentop said in a letter to Cavaye Yeguie Djibril.
Turkey attaches importance to the development of its relations with Cameroon in every field, Sentop said.
"I wish to further develop the cooperation between our parliaments within the framework of our current good bilateral relations with Cameroon," he said.
A holiday in Cameroon, National Unity Day is celebrated on every May 20 in the Central African country.
On May 20, 1972, in a national referendum, Cameroonians voted for a unitary state as opposed to the existing federal state.
