Turkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) said Wednesday that it had built a total of 48 water wells in a month in eight African countries.

The foundation, connected to the Turkish Religious Affairs Directorate, said in a written statement that the project was carried within the scope of a project named "Drop of life".

“TDV has opened 48 new water wells in Burkina Faso, Chad, Kenya, Nigeria, Sudan, Togo, Uganda and Zimbabwe that will meet the needs for clean water for many years,” said the statement.

The statement emphasized that there are more than 800 million people around the world suffering from lack of clean water.

TDV has also opened other water stations in Niger, Ghana, Somalia, Rwanda, Madagascar and Guinea Bissau.
