Turkish business delegation in DRC to aid cancer fight
Establishment of an oncology center has been made a priority amid steady rise in cases
A Turkish business delegation recently visited the Democratic Republic of Congo to help establish the framework for a cancer treatment center.
William Kasongo, a director of medical research in the DRC, told Anadolu Agency that Heva Muakasa, minister of scientific research and technology, received a delegation from the Republic of Turkey led by Hakan Aydin, general manager of the Trav Group, in Kinshasa.
Kasongo said each year, over a million cases of cancer are reported, and that is why the establishment of an oncology center has been made a priority.
“The leader of the delegation from Turkey, Hakan Aydin, said they would help in the funding of the oncology center. He pledged to lobby the government of his country for the realization of this project,’” Kasongo said.
