Turkish agency renovates school in Kyrgyzstan
TIKA renovated external facades of school building which hosts nearly 700 students
The Turkish state-run aid agency has renovated an international school in northern Kyrgyzstan.
The secondary school, which was set up in 1976, is located in the district of Issyk-Ata in Ahiska-populated Chuy region. It has 697 students from 17 different nationalities.
Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) completed the renovation of external facades of the school.
Kyrgyzstan’s Deputy Minister of Education and Science Kudayberdi Kojobekov and Turkey’s Ambassador to Bishkek Cengiz Kemal Firat, along with TIKA officials, attended the ceremony after the renovation.
“We are pleased with the help and support extended by Turkish people. We will remain committed to back such projects to cement the friendship between Turkey and Kyrgyzstan,” Kojobekov said.
Firat, for his part, said Turkey would try to do its best to contribute to development of Kyrgyzstan through TIKA.
Kyrgyz authorities have announced 2018 as “the year of development”.
