Turkey condemns terrorist attack in Pakistan

Turkey on Thursday condemned the deadly terrorist attack in southwestern Pakistan. 

"We have received the news with deep sorrow that a terror attack which took place today in Ormara city of the Balochistan province of Pakistan, resulted in many loss of lives," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

"We condemn this heinous terrorist attack and wish Allah's mercy upon those who lost their lives, convey our condolences to the friendly Government and the brotherly people of Pakistan."

Earlier on Thursday, gunmen shot dead at least 14 people, including personnel of Pakistan navy, southwestern Balochistan province.

The incident took place on a main highway that connects Pakistan's commercial capital Karachi to southwestern strategic Gwadar port, where unidentified assailants in camouflage uniform intercepted five to six passenger buses.

Balochistan, which covers 42 percent of the country's land and borders Afghanistan and Iran, is also a key route of the multi-million-dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
