Turkey: 9 Syrians arrested in Daesh terror operation
Police seize documents related to terror group during raids in Aegean Izmir province
Security forces on Thursday arrested nine Syrian citizens in western Turkey for their suspected links to the Daesh terror group.
The security forces learned that there were Daesh suspects in the Aegean province of Izmir after they examined the digital documents seized in operations in other provinces.
The suspects, who were allegedly linked to the terror group and instructed by Daesh, were nabbed in an anti-terror operation.
Police seized scores of documents related to the terrorist organization and digital material during the raid in Izmir, as well.
More than 300 people have been killed in Daesh-claimed attacks in Turkey, where the terror group has targeted civilians in suicide bombings, rocket attacks, and gunfire. Turkish security forces have been engaged in a long-running campaign to thwart the Daesh threat.
