Saudi raid kills 12 prisoners in Sanaa: Houthi TV

At least 12 prisoners were reportedly killed and scores injured in a Saudi-led coalition airstrike in Yemeni capital Sanaa on Wednesday, according to a pro-Houthi television.

The strike targeted a military camp in eastern Sanaa, Al Masira television said.

According to the broadcaster, there were around 180 government forces held by Houthi rebels inside the camp.

Eyewitnesses said eight airstrikes had targeted the camp in Hayr Habrah in eastern Sanaa.

There was no comment from the Saudi-led coalition on the claim.

Yemen has remained dogged by violence and chaos since 2014, when Houthi rebels overran much of the country, including capital Sanaa.

The conflict escalated in 2015 when Saudi Arabia and its Arab allies launched a devastating air campaign aimed at rolling back Houthi gains and shoring up Yemen’s Saudi-backed government.
