GÖKTÜRK-2 satellite is 8 years old

Turkey's domestic high-resolution reconnaissance satellite Göktürk-2 has completed its 8th year in orbit. Ministry of Defense, the relevant organizations of Industry and Technology, Ministry of Turkey Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) TUBITAK Space Technologies Research Institute (TÜBİTAK Space) and Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TAI), produced in partnership Göktürk-2, December 18, 2012. was placed in the mission orbit with the launch operation carried out in The 2.5-meter resolution satellite, produced with a high localization rate, was sent to space from the Jiuquan Launch Center in China. High technology domestic and national products such as infrared cameras, interface cards, image compression software and hardware, flight computer and x-band transmitter on GÖKTÜRK-2 satellite were developed by TÜBİTAK Space.

THE WORLD TOUR IS COMPLETED IN 98 MINUTES

GÖKTÜRK-2, which is placed in a sun-compatible orbit approximately 685 kilometers above the ground surface, completes a tour around the world in about 98 minutes. High-level engineering measures applied in the design and production process play an important role in this success of GÖKTÜRK-2, which has been working for 8 years despite its design life of 5 years. It is stated that starting from the early stages of the design process, all kinds of analysis, design review, inspection and tests required for the development of a high-reliability satellite are carried out in accordance with international standards.
