Family ties are getting stronger

With the increasing problems in marriage during the pandemic period, the Konya Provincial Mufti gives online seminars to support the engaged and married couples spiritually. Informing that they also give these seminars to hearing-impaired couples, Konya Deputy Mufti Betül Şimşek Öztürk said, “We realized that our deaf brothers got married and sometimes had problems in their families. In addition to our deaf siblings, we planned to provide training for our deaf siblings by our staff who know sign language ”and called for hearing impaired couples to participate in the training.

"MARRIAGE IS NOT ONLY AN ORGANIZATION OF THE WORLD"

Betül Şimşek Öztürk stated that they wanted to emphasize that with the project, marriage is not only an institution belonging to the world, but a union that begins in this world and continues in the hereafter. Şimşek said, “Our indispensable part in doing this is to catch the communication language of the family. This is because people have brought some rights and responsibilities with them. If a person grows up in a family, he cannot be there without mercy. We want our homes to be homes of compassion, of course, and it appears as a title. The institution of the family teaches us about chastity and privacy while nurturing us and learning compassion. At this point, we are also working here on how the family's function will be in chastity and privacy. Our seminars continue at full speed as the first step towards marriage diversified under these headings. I would like to point this out, ”he said.

‘COMMUNICATION BETWEEN FAMILY PEOPLE’

Stating that there was a communication gap between family members during the pandemic period, Şimşek said, “Some projects have been implemented and some communication problems have been experienced among family members due to spending time mostly at home during the pandemic period and this has been reflected in the spiritual side. In order to eliminate this, we developed a project called "Let My Home Be My Masjid" in the period corresponding to the month of Ramadan. In our Provincial Mufti, we took the issues related to national and moral values for 15 minutes and published them routinely. We asked those who were engaged in this activity for 30 days every day in their family to apply to us and as a result of this application, 3 thousand families provided us with a return. We also offered them various gifts. This was a really good feedback activity. "We came across the great favor of our people and they were followed from the country and abroad in the links on the social media posts."

'WE SERVE THROUGH SOCIAL SOCIETY'

Referring to the diversification of our social media accounts, Şimşek said, “We have two Instagram pages. We have two separate platforms namely Diyanet.konya.adrb and Diyanetkonyaadrb. We have programs that we do and will do and plan to do on these platforms. Because while we were providing face-to-face religious services before, this area unfortunately shrunk with the pandemic. At this point, we started to run family-related programs on social media. "We both have scientific lessons and our lessons on family communication are held every day here," he ended his words.
