Device that turns hail to rain draws int'l interest

"Dolusavar" (anti-hail) device, which turns hail into rain by the sound wave, has drawn considerable interest in Turkey and abroad.

Dolusavar prevents the crystallization of water with the sound wave sent to the sky by the device.

Iranian entrepreneur Yadollah Nasrollahi with the support of Turkey's Business Development Center (ISGEM), developed Dolusavar in Turkey’s eastern Van province to protect agricultural production from hail.

Nasrollahi started mass production of the device due to domestic and foreign demands.

"Our goal is to sell this device to all European countries," Nasrollahi told Anadolu Agency.

The device is effective in nearly 1,000 acres and can be controlled with mobile phone. After its first export to Azerbaijan, there is an increase in demand from European countries.

Hail damages country's economy, ISGEM Board chairman Mahmut Gedik said, adding: "We believe that we have made a significant contribution to both the national economy and the farmers."
