Coronavirus claims more lives in Kuwait, UAE
Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) registered additional fatalities due to the novel coronavirus on Tuesday.

In a statement, the Kuwait Health Ministry said four people had died from COVID-19, while 601 more infections were registered over the past 24 hours.

The country’s tally now rose to 51,245 cases, including 377 deaths, and 41,515 recoveries.

In the UAE, two people succumbed to the virus, in addition to 532 new cases and 993 recoveries, according to the Health Ministry.

A ministry statement said the new figures bring the nationwide count to 52,600 cases, including 326 deaths, and 41,714 recoveries.

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed over 538,000 lives in 188 countries and regions since originating in Wuhan, China last December.

More than 11.63 million cases have been reported around the world so far, with recoveries exceeding 6.31 million, according to figures compiled by US-based Johns Hopkins University.
