Bahraini expats vote in parliamentary, local polls

Bahraini expatriates on Tuesday began voting in the country’s parliamentary and municipal elections. 

According to the Bahraini electoral commission, expatriates will cast ballot in 29 embassies and consulates from 8:00a.m. to 8:00 p.m. local time. 

Elections in Bahrain are scheduled to take place on November 24 with more than 365,000 citizens are eligible to vote in the parliamentary elections and about 286,000 in municipal polls. 

At least 290 candidates are running for 40 seats in parliament, while 137 candidates vie for 30 seats in municipal councils.
