7 children drown in southern Pakistan

At least seven children drowned in River Indus in southern Pakistan on Friday, police said.

The boys aged between 6 and 10, according to the local police, were swimming in shallow waters and were presumably pushed deep inside the river near Thatta district.

Rescuers pulled out all seven bodies.

Pakistan has a history of such incidents, mainly in summers when people take a dip in rivers and streams to beat the sizzling heat.
